Common Bond Eligibility
Applicant groups must be situated and operating within the People First Credit Union common bond of Portlaoise, Abbeyleix, Athy, Stradbally, and surrounding areas.
Applications from national or regional groups will not be considered.

Eligibility
- Applications will only be considered from non-profit organisations, community groups, charities, clubs, etc. Applications from individuals will not be considered.
- Applicant groups or organisations must be in operation for at least one (1) year in order to be considered.
- People First Credit Union (“PFCU”) reserves the right to determine eligibility and any decision made by PFCU regarding eligibility is final.
- Applicants who are successful in receiving funding must wait 12 months before applying again.
- Funding will not be awarded to projects focused on the regular upkeep, maintenance, or repair of existing facilities, equipment, or infrastructure.
- Canvassing will disqualify.
- Only one application per club/group/organisation, or school will be considered, i.e. multiple groups under the same entity can not make separate applications.
Application
- Only applications received through this form will be accepted.
- Incomplete application forms will not be considered.
Consideration
- Applications will be considered by an appointed Community Funding Committee, ("the Committee") made up of staff and volunteers.
- All decisions made by the Committee are final. Discussions with the Committee about declined applications will not be entered into.
- The Committee meet once a quarter to consider applications in February, May, September, November.
- A closing date for each round of applications is communicated on the application form (above).
- Applications received after the closing date may not be considered until the next Community Funding meeting.
- This is a competitive process. Receiving funding historically is not a guarantee of future funding. Submitting an application is not a guarantee of sponsorship.
- The Committee will consider the overall distribution of funds across different sectors (e.g. sports, arts, youth, etc.) to ensure balanced support for all areas of our community.
Funding Terms
- Any award of funding is contingent on the applicant complying with the funding guidelines provided by the Committee.
- Funding guidelines include details on photo opportunities, logo placement, advertising, PR opportunities, etc.
- If the application is successful, the contact person will be notified via the email or phone number provided.
- Funding will not be released until PFCU confirms that guidelines have been satisfactorily complied with.
- Providing false or inaccurate information, or failing to exercise due care when submitting information, may result in disqualification and/or an obligation to repay any funds already awarded.
